About Georgia's Work Ethics Program HistoryThe current Work Ethics Program used in Georgia's system of technical colleges is the result of nearly thirty years of work at meeting the training needs of business and industry. The comprehensive training and evaluation program that is in use today has its roots in a 1978 high school initiative. READ THE FULL HISTORY (HTML) Customer Service A comprehensive Customer Service Training program has also been developed. The program parallels the Work Ethics training program in many ways, as it focuses on personal traits as they relate to and affect customer service skills in the workplace. Making Academics Count One component of the Work Ethics program used in Georgia's technical colleges is the inclusion of work ethics grades on academic transcripts. Students are evaluated on their work ethics throughout each term, and their work ethics grades appear along with their academic grades. The Making Academics Count program involves actively encouraging those employing our graduates to request copies of the students' transcripts as part of the hiring process. This enables employers to get an indication of how well the student mastered academic material, but also (and more importantly), of how that student is likely to perform as an employee. Please contact us for more information about the Making Academics Count program.
